I’ve been writing blog posts for Trixstar about all facets of event planning for nearly three years now. During that time, I’ve learned a great deal about how to plan a successful event that creates a lasting impact on attendees. I also volunteer with a local not-for-profit, and I was assigned the task of co-chairing its inaugural black-tie fundraiser this past spring. It was a daunting idea at first, not to mention a chance to put the event-planning knowledge I’ve gained from Trixstar to the test. I’ve compiled my top five tips for starting an event from scratch to help you out.

Corporate events generally get a bad rap for being predictable and boring. Company Christmas parties, partners’ dinners and client appreciation events all happen because of ‘tradition’. From venue to entertainment to the ‘rubber chicken’ served at dinner, an event formula that rarely changes has no chance to inspire employees, intrigue new customers, or promote the corporate brand.

People host events all the time to mark various occasions, to fundraise or to socialize and network. But what makes the truly successful events stand out from while others flop? There are common themes of successful events to ensure your guests will be talking about the festivities long after they leave—and for all the right reasons.

Ticket sales are crucial to any event, regardless of the venue or genre. An event can have an exceptional concept or a killer lineup, but it’s nothing without an audience there to enjoy it. Of course, marketing ticket sales does not follow a cut and paste formula that can be applied to any type of event. There are considerations that need to be made to effectively market you event in order to achieve the highest ticket sales volume possible, and casinos are no exception.

There are numerous events taking place within your city on any given night, but what’s going to make people want to attend yours when there are so many other options available to them? It’s not enough to rely on some of the tried-and-true methods of event planning and event promotion. People expect more, and it’s up to your company to make sure your event is enjoyable - and that the public will start to recognize your company as one that is known for stand-out events. However, this might mean your event needs a makeover, so read on for a few tips to determine if it does.

Take your event to the next level.
